We seek a multi-skilled Data Centre engineer to join a leading organization in Acton, West London. You will be part of a small team providing Data Centre services to a prestigious international financial organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working a 24x7x365 shift pattern of 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 nights off
  • Change control management
  • Incident management and resolution
  • Asset management and tracking
  • Supervision and escorting of third-party vendors
  • Planning and implementing IT hardware installations adhering to Data Centre standards
  • Planning and decommissioning network hardware and structured cabling
  • Updating documentation and inventories
  • Completing service requests within SLA
  • Compliance with health and safety procedures
  • Adherence to quality standards and support processes
  • Ensuring security procedures are followed

Additional tasks:

  • Maintaining Data Centre toolsets for support and management
  • Managing and governing Data Centre operations
  • Collaborating with facilities providers for energy efficiency
  • Handling installations, decommissions, changes, and maintenance
  • Basic server configuration (IDRAC, ILO)
  • Fault diagnosis and escalation
  • Racking, stacking, moves, changes, decommissioning, patching
  • Managing infrastructure projects like power outages and replacements
  • Managing complex cabling infrastructure for stability and connectivity

Qualifications and skills:

  • Experience working in high-risk environments and Data Centres
  • Knowledge of DCIM tools and standards (desirable)
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Remedy, or other ticketing systems (desirable)
  • Attention to detail and proactive approach
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies and networking
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Helpdesk applications
  • Reliability and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently
  • Flexibility with shift patterns
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role required
