Customer Service | Visit Scheduling Support | Remote
£26.50–£28.75 hourly | Full-time or part-time
Customers waiting for a scheduled service visit need accurate information about when to expect the team. A booking may have a broad arrival window, and a later approved update may narrow or move it. This position checks the current schedule, sends confirmed arrival information and records questions or access details for the person who manages the visit. You would not dispatch a technician, guarantee an exact minute or decide that a missed visit qualifies for compensation.
Find the right booking reference and check the latest approved window. A customer may have more than one visit scheduled, so include the relevant date and service in the message. If the system shows a tentative slot, describe it as tentative rather than confirmed. An older email may quote a different time; read the history and ask the scheduling owner which instruction is current before sending another notice. Avoid making a customer plan around a window that has already been replaced.
The customer may share an access instruction such as a gate code or ask whether they must be present. Handle such details only through the employer’s approved systems and give the published guidance when available. If a request changes the scope of the service or the time available, pass it to the authorised team. A note for the visiting staff should be concise, relevant and placed where the company permits. Do not paste sensitive details into a general email thread.
An arrival update may come from the scheduling team after a previous notice was sent. Compare the dates, record what changed and send the approved replacement message. If the customer says the new window is impossible, capture the response and ask the scheduler to decide the next step. Do not silently cancel the visit. A missed arrival should be recorded accurately: the person may be reporting that no one came, while the internal system may still show an assigned slot. Keep both facts visible for investigation.
You will also answer straightforward questions about the current recorded window through online messages. This is customer service supported by office administration, not field dispatch. The useful reply tells the person what the team has confirmed and what remains open. When another colleague takes the case, a clear status note prevents the customer from having to explain the same change again.
Check the appointment reference and compare the current arrival window with the notices already sent. Once the scheduling owner confirms a change, use the approved message and record that it went out. A customer’s access question or inability to attend belongs in the case for the right colleague to address. If someone reports a missed visit, capture their account and refer it for review. Personal access details remain in the authorised system. Complete the administrative task only when the assigned communication or handoff has actually been recorded.
The work is remote, using an online booking system from a private home office. Training covers the employer’s service types, time conventions and referral routes. Previous scheduling or customer service experience is useful but not required. The hiring company will confirm whether the vacancy is full-time or part-time and its specific hours. The rate is shown above.
Some visits depend on a customer providing an access window or confirming that a responsible person will be present. If that information is still missing, keep the booking’s status accurate and send the approved question. Do not treat an unanswered message as consent to enter a property. A customer might also ask what happens if the team is late; use the published process or refer the question rather than invent a guarantee. If a revised arrival window is confirmed, compare it with any earlier reminder that may still be scheduled to go out, and flag a notice that would contradict the current plan.
