Job Description

We are seeking a Lift Engineer with experience in escalator maintenance to join our team in North West England. The successful candidate will perform planned preventative maintenance on lift and escalator equipment across the North Region and Scotland, ensuring safety inspections and compliance with legislation and standards. Responsibilities also include minor repairs, component replacements, and adherence to safety procedures.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform routine servicing and minor repairs on lift/escalator equipment, including component replacements, following approved procedures.
  2. Diagnose and rectify faults, ensuring equipment functions correctly, including checks on speed, motor operation, noise, temperature, and power supplies.
  3. Conduct inspections and adjustments per procedures, document services, and restore equipment to operational status.
  4. Use technical manuals and test equipment for fault-finding and diagnostics, including interfacing with third-party equipment.
  5. Complete site surveys and ensure all work complies with company quality policies.
  6. Attend training to update technical skills and knowledge.
  7. Work in accordance with safety policies, contributing to safety objectives and monitoring safety systems.
  8. Participate in on-call rota for out-of-hours maintenance and repairs.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in lift/escalator servicing, maintenance, or repairs preferred.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in lift/escalator maintenance.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical skills, including multi-brand equipment knowledge.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and solve technical problems.
  • Good communication skills across different levels.
  • Working towards Schindler Certification Level 3 Red.
  • Experience in mentoring and training technicians.
  • Full UK driving license.
