Job summary

Hawk Hiring in Harpenden is seeking an experienced Service Mechanic/Technician to join a premier independent workshop specialising in VAG, Porsche, and JLR. The role focuses on precision servicing, multi-point checks, and routine maintenance in a high-quality, low-pressure environment.

You will perform manufacturer-standard servicing, oil changes, filter replacements, and health checks, using diagnostic tools and keeping up with firmware updates.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• Proven track record as a Service Mechanic/Technician.
• UK Driving Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform A & B manufacturer-standard servicing and oil changes on VAG, Porsche, and JLR.
• Carry out multi-point health checks and pre-MOT preparation.
• Carry out wear-and-tear maintenance: brakes, discs, shocks, tyres.
• Use diagnostic reset tools for service intervals and software updates.

• Salary: Up to £36,000 per year (reliably based on your actual hands-on experience)
• Hours: Monday to Friday - 9am - 5pm - 1 Saturday morning a month

What you will be doing:

• Executing A & B manufacturer-standard servicing, oil changes, cabin/engine filter replacements, and fluid flushes across VAG, Porsche, and JLR vehicles
• Carrying out comprehensive multi-point vehicle health checks (VHCs), safety inspections, and pre-MOT preparation checks
• Performing routine wear-and-tear mechanical maintenance, including brake pads, discs, shocks, suspension bushings, and tyres
• Utilising diagnostic reset tools for service interval resets, software updates, and basic fault-code scanning
• Requirements: NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent), proven track record as a Service Mechanic/Technician, keen attention to detail, and a valid UK Driving Licence (experience with VAG, Porsche, or JLR brands is a great plus!)

Commutable Locations:

This role is based in Harpenden, making it an easy commute from St Albans, Luton, Hemel Hempstead, Welwyn Garden City, and Hitchin.
