Access Service Technician

Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Access Service Technician to join our security business unit. The technician reports directly to the Service Manager. Responsibilities include project management, programming access control and video systems, troubleshooting, assisting with installations, and supporting Service Technicians. This role involves extensive customer interaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze incoming calls to improve dispatch efficiency.
  2. Provide expertise and assistance to Service Technicians.
  3. Lead to ensure proper procedures for all National Accounts jobs and services.
  4. Offer technical support for customer inquiries and troubleshooting.
  5. Develop expertise in major lines we install and service.
  6. Project manage jobs and schedule service tickets.
  7. Review workloads periodically with the manager for efficiency.
  8. Keep customers and sales teams informed of service call statuses.
  9. Manage and report on Cage Stock.
  10. Dispatch Technicians and Sub Contractors based on priorities and locations.
  11. Conduct regular on-site visits to customers to identify needs.
  12. Assist with system upgrades.
  13. Test new products in the field environment to ensure proper operation and define installation procedures.
  14. Define operational instructions and parameters for customers.
  15. Program systems using standards aimed at system understandability.
  16. Coordinate with client IT departments for project success.
  17. Schedule repairs, upgrades, and new sales within customer timeframes.
  18. Complete and submit paperwork timely (vehicle logs, timesheets, service tickets).
  19. Maintain daily communication with the Service Manager regarding job status.
  20. Ensure proper closeout procedures, including handing over programming guides and licensing info.
  21. Train customers on system operation at an administrator level.
  22. Work with manufacturers to match customer needs with appropriate products.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • 3+ years of industry experience, especially with computer software operations
  • 1 year of hardware experience in troubleshooting, setup, and maintenance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturer certifications or product knowledge in CCure, Amag, Genetec, S2, Alarm.com, EST, DMP, and Connect One

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods working on computers and phones
  • Ability to sit and stand intermittently throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Clear communication skills; manual dexterity for reaching, climbing, lifting, and operating tools and equipment

Compensation starts at $30+/hour, commensurate with experience.
