Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ.
  • Experience in a franchise dealership.
  • MOT Tester qualification is a plus.

Based in the South and South-West of England, our client is an AM Top 50 automotive retailer covering 20 brands across 54 franchises. We are currently looking for a Service Technician to join our established team based in Hedge End.

As a Service Technician, you will carry out a variety of workshop tasks efficiently and safely. The goal is to meet customer requirements and maximize workshop utilization and productivity.

Your day will include:

  • Carrying out vehicle services and repairs according to brand technical standards.
  • Working in line with brand and dealership processes.
  • Liaising directly with customers when appropriate.
  • Supporting less experienced colleagues.
  • Attending regular training to update technical skills.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Have you got what it takes?

  • Relevant City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ accreditation.
  • Previous experience in a franchise dealership.
  • Strong fault diagnosis skills and MOT Tester qualification.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Good planning and organizational skills to meet deadlines.

Hours of work:

  • Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:30 (with 1-hour lunch).
  • Saturdays 08:30 – 12:30 (on a 1 in 4 rota).
