Job Description

Service Engineer / Service Technician / Compressor Engineer required to join a leading, global compressed air manufacturer.

The Successful Service Engineer / Field Service Technician / Compressor Engineer will provide electrical and mechanical repair, service, validation, and testing of compressed air equipment, including compressors, desiccant dryers, compressed air filtration, nitrogen generators, condensate technologies, and associated downstream equipment at the workshop near Burton-On-Trent plus customer sites UK wide when required.

The Service Engineer / Field Service Technician / Compressor Engineer will ideally have a service background in electrical or mechanical engineering such as compressors, filtration, pneumatics, hydraulics, nitrogen generators, pipework, vacuum pumps, vacuum systems, valves, pumps, motors, rotating equipment, turbines, refrigeration, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, or similar electro-mechanical engineering equipment.

Good working knowledge of three-phase electrics and controls is advantageous.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical and mechanical repair, service, and maintenance of compressed air products, systems, and solutions.
  • Undertake planned and preventative maintenance, commissioning, diagnostics, fault finding of various compressed air downstream and compressor filtration systems.
  • Maintain, repair, install, validate, and test compressed air equipment, including compressors, desiccant dryers, filtration, nitrogen generators, condensate technologies, and downstream equipment.
  • Identify and provide customers with improvements, upgrades, or aftercare for compressed air filtration products.
  • Operate from the workshop near Burton-On-Trent and visit customer sites UK wide as required.
  • Liaise with various engineering departments.

Requirements

  • Proven diagnostic skills on complex electrical and mechanical/electromechanical equipment.
  • Experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Service Technician, Installation Engineer, or similar in compressed air or related fields.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with existing and new customers.
  • Background in electrical or mechanical engineering such as compressors, filtration, pneumatics, hydraulics, nitrogen generators, pipework, vacuum pumps, vacuum systems, valves, pumps, motors, rotating equipment, turbines, refrigeration, robotics, or similar.
  • Mechanical or electrical engineering degree, apprenticeship, HNC, HND, FGas, or similar qualification is advantageous.
  • Must be able to commute to the workshop near Burton-On-Trent and travel to customer sites across the UK as required.
