Job purpose

Assist in certain phases of operation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of specific systems of construction and mining equipment engines or base machines. This includes mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Assist senior Service Technicians as required and observe closely to gain knowledge. While working as a Service Technician - Class C, you will be in an OJT status.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist in the repair of shop and field work
  • Complete service reports, time cards, and other paperwork legibly and understandably
  • Assist senior Technicians and observe closely to learn
  • Ensure all jobs are completed safely and proficiently
  • Clean the shop work area after each job
  • Participate in service schools and training programs offered by the company
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical aptitude

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Understanding of the position and its relation to overall business objectives
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance
  • Ability to operate test equipment and troubleshoot effectively
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, and bend or twist multiple times daily
  • Ability to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing as per Department of Transportation requirements

Working Conditions

  • Typical hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Weekend work as necessary
  • Possible work in inclement weather and hazardous environments
