We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Team Manager to lead our Safeguarding and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Hub. We are recruiting a knowledgeable and compassionate Service Team Manager to lead our Safeguarding & DoLS Hub at the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead (RBWM). This important role is central to delivering our Social Care Futures vision and ensuring that safeguarding responses are timely, proportionate, and person-centred.

This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working, and a salary of £53,296 - £58,286 per annum.

Responsibilities
  • As Service Team Manager for the Safeguarding & DoLS Hub, you will lead a specialist team responsible for delivering statutory safeguarding duties and managing Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
  • Provide visible, supportive leadership to staff, promoting resilience and reflective practice.
  • Ensure robust oversight of safeguarding and DoLS processes, in line with the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act.
  • Champion excellent practice around mental capacity across the service.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to uphold individuals rights and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to RBWM's strategic priorities: building inclusive, healthy communities, promoting prevention and choice, and delivering compassionate, high-quality services.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

  • Be a professionally qualified Social Worker holding either CQSW, DipSW, Degree in Social Work or equivalent
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Substantial experience in adult social care (minimum 3-5 years, ideally including roles as a Senior Practitioner or Assistant Team Manager or Team Manager)
  • Demonstrable experience in complex case management, including mental capacity assessments, safeguarding adults at risk and working with the Court of Protection
  • Experience of performance management, staff supervision, appraisals and professional development
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in multi-agency settings (NHS, housing, voluntary sector) to achieve positive outcomes

Desirable

  • PEPS 2 qualified and experienced practice educator (desirable)
  • Qualified as a Best Interest Assessor (desirable)
