Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2026

The Families First for Children Programme aims to improve family support to enable children to remain safely within their families and communities, and to ensure children are protected from harm both inside and outside the home. To support this, Sandwell Children's Trust is seeking a Service Support Officer to support the Trust's Family First Programme.

As a Service Support Officer working in the Trust, you will:

  1. Provide vital business admin support to the Families First Service.
  2. Monitor relevant inboxes.
  3. Maintain accurate records and upload documents to social care systems.
  4. Schedule meetings and distribute invites via Microsoft Outlook with MS Teams links, and type accurate meeting minutes.
  5. Prioritize incoming post and messages, alerting officers & practitioners to urgent matters.
  6. Maintain files and record systems, including scanning and uploading documents.
  7. Support new employees with equipment and the in-house Children’s system.

Person requirements:

  • Hold NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a business admin role.
  • IT literate with experience using Microsoft Office packages.
  • Good communication and telephone skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in minute taking of complex meetings.
  • A standard DBS check is required for this role.
