Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment is seeking a field-based Service & Support Engineer to program, service and repair automated machinery across customer sites in England and Wales. You will diagnose control systems, provide remote support and handle occasional overnight travel as required.

The role requires Siemens PLC (S7-1200) and ABB IRC5 robotics experience, plus solid electrical and mechanical engineering skills to troubleshoot complex equipment.

Qualifications

• Must have Siemens PLC programming experience (S7-1200) with fault-finding on automation systems.
• ABB robot programming experience (IRC5) is required.
• Practical electrical and mechanical engineering skills essential.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position: Service & Support Engineer
Location: Field-based - England & Wales
Salary: Up to £21 per hour, dependent on experience
Hours: 45+ hours per week
Benefits: Company vehicle, laptop, uniform, pension, overtime at 1.5x and £30 per overnight stay

Bennett and Game are currently partnering with a specialist client within process and packaging machinery, including robotic automation. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Service & Support Engineer to join their team.

This is a field-based position involving programming, servicing, repairs and fault-finding on automated machinery at customer sites. You will also provide remote technical support and diagnose control system issues. Travel across England and Wales is required, with regular overnight stays as needed.

Service & Support Engineer Requirements

• Strong Siemens PLC programming experience, ideally S7-1200.
• ABB robot programming experience, particularly IRC5.
• Practical electrical and mechanical engineering skills.
• Experience fault-finding, servicing and repairing industrial machinery.
• Ability to provide remote technical support and online diagnostics.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel and stay away overnight.
• Desirable: Siemens or Weintek HMI programming experience, relevant engineering qualifications and accredited PLC or robotics training.

Service & Support Engineer Package

• Up to £21 per hour, depending on experience.
• Overtime paid at 1.5x for hours worked above 45 per week.
• £30 overnight allowance per night away.
• Company vehicle, laptop and uniform.
