Job description

Location: London + South (with travel as required)

With over 100 years of expertise, the SAUTER Group is a global leader in Building Management Solutions (BMS) for large commercial and residential buildings. Beyond installation, our nationwide Service team plays a vital role in keeping systems running at their best — through planned maintenance, responsive support, and ongoing project work.

Thanks to continued demand for system upgrades and extensions, we’re looking for a Service Projects Engineer to join our growing team. Working across our existing client base — primarily in central London with occasional travel across the southern region — you’ll help deliver BMS upgrade projects from survey to commissioning and handover.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the Project Management team in delivering BMS upgrade and extension projects to a high standard.
  • Carrying out site surveys to understand the technical scope and capture client requirements.
  • Taking the lead on pre-commissioning and commissioning activities — including point-to-point checks, software and graphics configuration, and minor panel modifications.
  • Collaborating closely with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Feeding back any design or technical changes and supporting the team in keeping everything aligned with programme goals.
  • Leading client demonstrations and user training sessions to ensure a confident handover.
  • Keeping documentation up to date — including wiring diagrams, control descriptions, and configuration records.
  • Supporting out-of-hours works (including occasional weekends) and contributing to a culture of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

What we’re looking for:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a BMS engineering role in the UK (service, projects, or commissioning).
  • Strong working knowledge of open protocols (BACnet, Modbus, M-Bus) and an understanding of IT networks and infrastructure.
  • Experience with BMS software and graphics tools (e.g. Trend, Tridium, Distech, Siemens).
  • Electrically competent — comfortable reading control panel drawings and making minor panel modifications.
  • Good knowledge of HVAC plant and how it integrates with BMS systems.
  • A proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Organised and reliable — able to manage workloads independently and keep documentation tidy and accurate.
  • Ideally holds a full UK driving licence to support work outside the M25 when needed.

Our Benefits

This role offers an attractive salary and benefits package which can be discussed during the recruitment process.

In return, you’ll be joining a highly engaged and passionate team that rewards commitment and achievement. If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, then we would love to hear from you. Apply today!
