Job Title: Service Project Manager

Reports to: Senior Sales Manager

Location: London - Heathrow

Contract Type: Permanent

Introduction to role:

We are seeking a motivated Service Project Manager to join our dynamic Commercial & Account Team. This role focuses on defining and delivering externally facing projects within the Heathrow Airport Baggage environment. The successful candidate will contribute across the full asset lifecycle—Design, Build, Operate, Maintain, and IT—to ensure comprehensive solutions are implemented.

Role Responsibilities:

Your primary responsibility is to coordinate all the activities around service Projects (Retrofit, Modifications and Revisions). This includes scoping works, cost estimation, specifications, preparing detailed quotations, execution (installation) and Service take over at Heathrow Airport.

You will work on several small projects simultaneously and functionally report to Senior Sales Manager for Heathrow Airport. Due to the dynamic and multi-disciplinary environment, you will work and align with internal project-team members (managers, project engineers, sales engineering, R&D, HLC, IT, buyers) and external parties (customers, subcontractors, engineering companies). You will be responsible to achieve the best overall project result for both Vanderlande and the customer, while considering planning, quality, and costs as well.

Your responsibilities and activities will include:

  1. Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to define project requirements and ensure alignment.
  2. Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and comprehensive quotations.
  3. Work with supply chain to develop associated costings.
  4. Coordinate activities across multiple teams, ensuring seamless integration of the full asset lifecycle.
  5. Monitor and manage project timelines, budgets, and quality standards to meet performance metrics.
  6. Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including schedules, reports, and meeting minutes.
  7. Conduct on-site assessments to monitor project progress and resolve any arising challenges.
  8. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations throughout project delivery.
  9. Responsible for the performance of RMR project execution (financially, planning and customer satisfaction).
  10. Escalation and single point of contact for internal as well as external stakeholders for operational and technical issues.

Role Qualification and Skills:

  1. Previous experience or internship in project management or a related field is advantageous.
  2. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  3. Strong time-management, commercially minded, planning awareness and multitasking abilities.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal capabilities.
  5. Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and disciplines.
  6. A proactive and detail-oriented approach to identifying and addressing issues.
  7. Familiarity with automated material handling systems is a plus but not mandatory.
