Service Manager - Young Adults Service

Salary: Up to £65,478 per annum plus £5,850 Market Supplement

Location: Haringey

Contract: Permanent, Full-time (36 hours per week)

About the Role

Haringey Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Service Manager to lead the Young Adults Service, driving service improvement through effective analysis, partnership, and performance oversight. You will lead on service delivery for young people leaving care and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, ensuring they receive high-quality, evidence-based support in line with statutory guidance and best practice.

You will:

  • Lead and develop services based on analysis of risk, performance, and user feedback.
  • Ensure the operational delivery of services meets high professional standards.
  • Support practitioners through robust supervision, effective team meetings, and consistent quality assurance.
  • Oversee leaving care services, including managing risk across teams and agencies.
  • Drive innovation and service development for adolescents and care leavers.
  • Take a strategic lead in supporting unaccompanied minors from arrival through to independence.
  • Manage and monitor budgets, ensuring value for money and efficient resource use.
  • Embed models of good practice, clear procedures, and staff training programmes.
  • Collaborate with partners across the Children and Young People's Service to ensure seamless, holistic support.
  • Maintain strong partnerships across internal and external agencies, ensuring children and young people remain safe and supported.
About You

You will be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England, with proven experience in leading and developing services for adolescents, care leavers, and unaccompanied minors.

You will demonstrate:

  • Significant experience in service management and improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of legislation, safeguarding, and leaving care practice.
  • Excellent strategic planning, performance management, and budget oversight.
  • The ability to make sound judgements around risk and outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and partnership-working skills.
