Service Manager - Universal Children's Services
This is an exciting opportunity to strategically lead on the Universal Children's Services across the East Riding of Yorkshire. The service is commissioned by the local authority and services provided by Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust. The Integrated Specialist Public Health Nursing Service (ISPHNS), Children Looked After team, and Child Health Information Services (CHIS) provide excellent services to support children locally and deliver a high standard of governance to evidence the reach and outcomes achieved locally.
Main duties of the job
The Service Manager will be accountable for the operational delivery of Universal Children's Services for a portfolio of services within the Children & LD Division. The post-holder will be responsible for the development and delivery of high standard services through the provision of highly effective leadership and management across their service areas and to their teams. We are looking for a motivated SCPHN leader with management experience in children's services. As the service manager, you will manage a team of leaders who represent you and the service in all areas of public health nursing. You will continue to work with colleagues, stakeholders, and service users to improve and develop the local offer.

Person Specification
Qualifications and knowledge
- Educated to Post graduate Diploma level (or Masters Level); or be able to demonstrate equivalent specialist knowledge through experiential learning/experience plus specialist training in addition to a degree level certificate.
- Detailed understanding of relevant policy, legislation, drivers and their application to clinical/service/organisation e.g. Mental Capacity Act, Health & Safety, Infection Control.
- Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified service area.
- Evidence of management, leadership and organisational development issues that have had a positive impact on service delivery.
- Experience of successful policy implementation and change.
- Advanced Healthcare management/leadership training/qualification or equivalent experience.
- Member of organisational group/network, locally or nationally.
Experience
- Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the professional lead area to advanced level of post-graduate diploma or equivalent knowledge/experiential learning.
- Proven leadership/management experience at an advanced level which has had a positive impact/created change within service delivery/practice.
- Organisational networking locally and regionally.
- Evidence of managing a budget within set resources.
- Ability to work across organisational boundaries, developing and maintaining multi-professional and multi-agency partnerships.
- Proven experience of developing others through education, mentorship, coaching, and teaching.
