Job Description:

We are recruiting for the role of Service Manager in our Leicester teams covering Leicestershire.

We trust and empower colleagues to work in a hybrid way, providing resources, equipment, and support, so that we can be the voice of children and young people in family court decisions.

This role is based in Leicester, but teams work flexibly and remotely, so proximity to the office is not always essential.

We are a diverse and inclusive organization that values shared identity and lived experience, ensuring our services reflect the diversity of children and families we serve. We especially welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds to reflect the communities we work with.

We offer extensive wellbeing support and excellent benefits to our colleagues.

About the role…

Being a Service Manager is rewarding but challenging. You should be registered with Social Work England, organized, resilient, empathetic, supportive, and able to work independently.

In our Work After First Hearing teams, Family Court Advisers (our Social Workers) handle a mixed caseload of Public and Private Law cases, including providing court reports about children's experiences, conducting independent enquiries, scrutinizing local authority work, and representing children in court.

What we’re looking for:

  • Expert knowledge of children’s social work, safeguarding, statutory, and assessment frameworks
  • Effective practice management or supervisory experience
  • Experience as a practice educator, monitoring and developing team and individual performance
  • Ability to build strong networks with other agencies
  • Experience leading teams through change
