Job summary

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and skilled individual to work as the Service Manager overseeing learning disabilities, transitions, and safeguarding. This busy integrated service includes a range of health and social care professionals offering holistic care to our residents.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership experience at service manager level in health or social care, or be a team manager seeking career development in operational and strategic management. Excellent people management skills, IT proficiency, and networking abilities are essential, demonstrating effective collaboration across agencies and organizations. Knowledge of legal frameworks such as the Care Act 2014, Children and Families Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding protocols is required. The post also involves supporting the Head of Service in safeguarding leadership.

Main duties include:

  1. Managing teams effectively with knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory functions.
  2. Assisting in the daily operations of the directorate.
  3. Engaging with health partners to ensure service integration.
  4. Understanding departmental budgets and strategic goals.
  5. Managing Subject Access requests, FOI requests, complaints, and inquiries.
  6. Applying expertise in statutory duties under relevant legislation.
  7. Attending or chairing forums to ensure standardized practices and appropriate funding application.
  8. Replacing the Head of Service when needed.
