What you will do

With a strong commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, Johnson Controls are seeking a dynamic and experienced Service Manager to join our IREF team.

The IREF Service Manager position is part of our Building Technologies & Solutions business at Johnson Controls. You will be responsible for the daily operations of our successful IREF service business. Part of the role is also to coach and mentor IREF technicians who handle service work for our customers in the local areas.

Ideal candidate will have entrepreneurial drive, a consistent track record of success running the operation of an IREF service business, managing technicians, and P&L management in an Industrial Refrigeration environment. We're looking for a hands-on and strategic partner to grow the business and collaborate with our teams and customers.

Leveraging your technical expertise, leadership skills, and customer-centric approach, you will lead a team of skilled technicians to deliver exceptional service.

How you will do it

As our Service Manager you will be empowered to make decisions and effectively manage key accounts whilst dealing with an element of ambiguity. You will need be leading multiple priorities simultaneously, leaning on your excellent planning, organisation and sales skills. A key part of the role is to map the customer network, understand the full organisation and define a tailored account plan. You will lead and develop relationships; lead a proactive plan to ensure our customers understand the true value of our integrated solutions provided.

As the Service Manager you are responsible for maintaining a close working relationship with the Service Team Leaders and General Manager to review, improve and successfully achieve objectives.

This is a hybrid role split between office work and customer visits, as per business requirements.

What we look for

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage, influence and collaborate with both internal & external stakeholders at all levels

Proven experience in industrial refrigeration, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.

Technical background and knowledge of Industrial Refrigeration Systems in both industrial and commercial environments.

Field experience - coaching and managing the maintenance team in order to deliver site services

Excellency in verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience

Relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Familiarity with health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Proven ability to manage budgets and drive operational efficiency.
