Job Introduction
Milton Keynes Children's Services is committed to delivering comprehensive support and protection to children, young people, and their families within the community.
Our services are meticulously designed to ensure the safety, wellbeing and development of children, particularly those who are vulnerable or at risk. We take pride in fostering constructive relationships with families and ensuring that children are safe and well-cared for.
In alignment with the Families First national safeguarding reforms, we're currently collaborating with our workforce and partners to evolve our Family Support practice into the new Multi-Agency Child Protection and Family Help teams.
We're seeking a Service Manager to be part of leading and shaping our future Family Help and Safeguarding service. This role is pivotal in both developing and implementing these changes, as well as maintaining our current services throughout this transition.
The successful candidate will ensure that children and families continue to receive timely and appropriate support, thereby improving outcomes and life chances for our most vulnerable families.
This is a brilliant opportunity to work alongside our Head of Early Help & Protection to shape our service and make a positive difference to children in need.
We offer a £4,000 market supplement (pro rata), £6,000 Golden Hello, excellent training and career progression opportunities, and a suite of IT equipment to enable you to do your job effectively. Support with career progression and access to clinical supervision is provided to all employees.
We encourage and warmly welcome applications from social workers in all disciplines such as Adult Social Care and Mental Health Services.
This role is eligible for you to be referred by an MKCC employee, as part of the Children's Services Social Worker Referral Scheme. The successful candidate, and the referrer, will, subject to all conditions of the scheme being met, receive £1,000. The reward is split into two £500 payments, the first received on appointment, and the second after the first-year anniversary of being in post. You must indicate in your application, the name of the person referring you, for this to apply. It cannot be applied retrospectively.
This is a site-based role.
Interviews for this role will be held on 8 July.
