Service Manager

Location: Wirral

Salary: £60,000 per annum (base salary)

Hours: Monday to Friday, Days Only

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Service Manager to join our client's team. This role is critical in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and effective transportation management. You will be responsible for leading the service function, overseeing operational activities, and ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate daily operations across service and transport functions.
  • Oversee the scheduling, routing, and efficiency of transportation and logistics.
  • Lead, motivate, and support the service team to achieve business objectives.
  • Ensure all equipment and assets are maintained in line with safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor and improve service delivery to meet customer expectations.
  • Drive operational efficiency and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and optimise resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, legal, and environmental requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Previous experience as a Service Manager (preferably within the hire, plant, or equipment industry).
  • Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics operations.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service focus.
  • Good understanding of compliance, H&S, and industry regulations.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets effectively.
