Job description

Hutchings Hyundai Pontypridd are looking to recruit an experienced ambitious, proactive and enthusiastic Service Manager to lead our busy service department at our award-winning dealership in Treforest.

Hutchings Hyundai Pontypridd provides a brilliant opportunity for the right candidate to lead the department in its development over the coming years. The workshop currently has 5 technicians with a lead time of quality work that immediately presents the opportunity to expand the technician team and continue that expansion over the mid-term. As an addition to the strong retail and fleet and internal workflow Hutchings Hyundai is also an EV technical centre with a direct link to the manufacturers technical HQ for collaborative support.

The role reports directly to the Brand Manager and is supported by both Group Compliance and Warranty Managers, along with the Group Parts Department.

We want to speak to EXPERIENCED candidates that have a passion for delivering consistent utilisation and efficiency from a fantastic technical team and to work hands on with the front counter to deliver an excellent customer experience. Hitting the required numbers month in month out is a habit (which all our service departments do, and we will share the way that we set the monthly number based on the sites capacity during the interview).

You need to have a great personality and be able to work closely with your team and the Brand Manager in delivering a consistent performance. You will love coaching and developing your technicians and non-productive team members, having the experience, skills and resilience to be involved in every part of the Service departments operation.

The candidate must have good Technical/Systems skills with a minimum of 3 years management experience within the Franchised motor trade and be able to understand the performance data to coach and improve each area of the aftersales business.

You are the face of the Hutchings Hyundai Service Department, and will lead by example in your attitude, enthusiasm and communication both internally, with Hyundai UK and all our customers.

Your selling skills will need to be on point to coach your team to a best-in-class VHC performance and you will be responsible for delivering the Groups VHC development plan with the Hutchings aftersales team.

In summary you will need experience of front counter, workshop control and leadership to get the most out of this position but in return you will get 100% support for all areas of technical, commercial and personal performance that will, for the right candidate, make this a personally and financially rewarding position.

This is a Monday to Friday role. We do not operate our Service Departments on the weekends.
