Job summary

Lifeways in Bradford is seeking an experienced Manager to lead a luxurious, purpose-built supported living service for adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. You will oversee day-to-day operations, develop a high-performing team and ensure outstanding care and compliance.

This role demands a confident, hands-on leader who can drive quality, safeguarding and continuous improvement while building strong relationships with residents, families and staff.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a management role within supported living, residential or domiciliary care.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC requirements, safeguarding and quality standards.
  • Hands-on leadership style that inspires and holds teams accountable.
  • Resilience to manage challenges and lead change.
  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and/or complex behaviours.
  • NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Strong organisational, operational and people-management skills.
  • Passion for enabling people to live fulfilling, independent lives.

Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership, performance and development of the service.
  • Lead, motivate and develop your team to deliver safe, effective and genuinely person-centred support.
  • Create a positive culture where people are supported to live independently, make choices and achieve their personal goals.
  • Ensure consistently high standards of care, safeguarding, compliance and quality assurance.
  • Build strong and positive relationships with the people we support, their families, colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement and ensure the service continues to deliver an exceptional standard of support.
  • Lead effectively through change, identifying opportunities to improve both the service and the experience of the people living there.
  • Develop your team through coaching, supervision, performance management and visible, supportive leadership.
  • Monitor service performance and take ownership of achieving key operational, quality and financial objectives.
  • Ensure the apartments and wider service environment remain safe, welcoming, well-maintained and reflective of the high-quality support we aim to provide.

Location: Bradford – leading a luxurious, purpose-built supported living service

Salary: Competitive salary plus Service Manager Bonus Scheme

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Manager to lead a luxurious, purpose-built supported living service in Bradford, providing high-quality, person-centred support for adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex support needs. We are able to consider managers from a supported living, residential or domiciliary care background. Turnaround experience highly desirable.

The service has been thoughtfully designed to provide a modern, comfortable and aspirational home environment, comprising 14 stylish one-bedroom apartments, creating a welcoming community where people can live with greater independence, choice and dignity.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and passionate leader who wants to make a real difference. What You’ll Bring

  • The resilience and confidence to manage challenges, lead change and drive continuous improvement
  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and/or complex behaviours
  • NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it
  • Strong organisational, operational and people-management skills
  • A genuine passion for enabling people to live fulfilling, independent lives
