Service Maintenance Technician - Electrical - Booker
You will be responsible for:
As a Maintenance Technician, your responsibilities will include a wide range of tasks. To succeed in this role, you will need to:
- Confidently interact with external contractors to coordinate repairs seamlessly.
- Work collaboratively with the team, understanding the importance of quality service.
- Sustain high energy levels while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Assist the management team by maintaining equipment and facilities to keep our stores running smoothly.
- Minimize customer disruption by coordinating repairs with minimal impact.
Your duties will include:
- Ensuring all Tesco sites are safe and functional for customers and colleagues.
- Following the planned work schedule to achieve first-time fixes, improving efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborating with team members, sharing best practices and knowledge.
- Performing general day-to-day store and property maintenance.
- Using mobile devices such as phones and tablets to complete work and provide updates.
- Representing the Tesco brand by demonstrating our core values—serving customers, communities, and the planet better every day—maintaining a positive attitude, and taking pride in wearing the Tesco uniform.
- Attending local and national meetings, providing valuable input and feedback.
- Supporting a diverse and inclusive culture.
Requirements include:
- Previous experience in maintenance, engineering, or construction environments.
- Digital confidence in using tablets for work schedules and emails.
- Completion of a recognised apprenticeship, trade proficiency, or relevant experience.
- Basic diagnostics skills, including PCB/Microprocessor/HMI-controlled systems and equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical safety circuits, fault finding, and replacements.
- EICR remedial knowledge.
- Full driving license.
- Health & Safety awareness.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Office 365 knowledge.
Qualifications required:
- City & Guilds Level 3 – Electrical (or equivalent).
- Apprenticeship or improver programme.
- City & Guilds 18th Edition.
- EICR remedial works experience.
Preferred qualifications:
- City & Guilds Inspection & Testing.
- ECoPs.
- MEWP/IPAF Licence.
