Job summary

Kier Group's KierBAM team in Plymouth is seeking an experienced Service Locator to identify and manage underground services on a major Royal Navy site. This role requires BPSS clearance, a NATO/MISWG passport eligibility, and a commitment to safe site practices.

You will use geophysical techniques, mark service locations, maintain permit records, brief teams, and collaborate with site stakeholders to ensure accurate records and safe working methods.

Qualifications

• Experience with locating underground services and marking on ground.
• Knowledge of PAS 128 and TSA standards.
• Familiarity with HSG-47 and GS-6 guidance.
• Proficiency with GPR, CAT and Genny tools.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground services using geophysical techniques and mark on ground with depth and type.
• Manage Permit to Break Surface documentation and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Provide teams with service overviews and safe-working method advice.
• Conduct site briefings using an 8-point checklist and enforce exclusion zones.
• Coordinate with BOSC on record discrepancies and keep drawings up to date.
