Job description

Job Requirements

At Siemens Healthineers, our purpose is to pioneer breakthroughs in healthcare. For everyone. Everywhere. Sustainably. We are looking for a Service Lifecycle Management Engineer who wants to take their engineering and service experience beyond solving today's technical challenges and use it to influence how tomorrow's products are designed, supported and maintained.

This is an opportunity to have an impact across the complete product lifecycle. You'll connect engineering, service, quality and product development, combining technical insight with data and collaboration to help create reliable, serviceable solutions that maximise system uptime and ultimately support better outcomes for customers and patients.

About the role

As our Service Lifecycle Management Engineer, you'll represent the service perspective throughout the product lifecycle, helping ensure serviceability is considered from the outset rather than after a product reaches the field.

You'll work with colleagues across Customer Service, Quality, R&D and other engineering disciplines, bringing real-world service insight into product development while also using field data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

If you've built your career closer to frontline engineering or technical service and are ready to broaden your impact, this could be a great next step. You'll have the opportunity to move further into product lifecycle activity, develop your cross-functional influence and see your ideas translate into meaningful improvements for engineers and customers.

What you'll be doing
  • Deliver Service Lifecycle Management projects and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the service perspective within cross-functional product development activities, helping ensure new products are designed with effective servicing and maintenance in mind.
  • Analyse field-performance information, identify trends and turn data into practical serviceability improvements.
  • Provide specialist support for Magnet Monitoring across the product portfolio.
  • Help develop and enhance automated approaches to monitoring product performance in the field.
  • Lead service-related activities within the Quality Management System.
  • Create and manage spare-parts lifecycle activities, including change management and consideration of new requirements arising from product changes.
  • Champion Customer Service requirements throughout product development.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, product lifecycle, quality and service colleagues across different locations and disciplines.
  • Communicate technical perspectives clearly and constructively, helping teams reach solutions that balance product, engineering, customer and service requirements.
  • Contribute to improved product reliability, service readiness, system uptime and customer satisfaction.
Work Experience

We're interested in your potential as well as the experience you've already gained. You don't need to match every point perfectly to have a conversation with us.

You’ll ideally bring:
  • A background in engineering, technical service or service engineering, gained through a degree, equivalent qualification or relevant practical experience.
  • Experience of working with complex technical products or systems and an understanding of what makes equipment practical to diagnose, maintain and service.
  • A proactive, analytical approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Experience of delivering projects or coordinating technical improvement activities.
  • The confidence to work across functions and engage effectively with people from different technical disciplines and areas of the organisation.
  • The ability to interpret technical or field data and translate your findings into actionable improvements.
  • An understanding of quality systems, change management or product lifecycle processes.
  • Clear communication skills and an ability to constructively advocate for the service and customer perspective.

Experience of new product introduction would be beneficial, but isn't essential. Similarly, previous experience with magnet systems or related technology would be advantageous, but we're keen to hear from strong service engineering candidates from other relevant technical environments who are motivated to develop their expertise.

Above all, you’ll bring curiosity and a service mindset: the ability to look at a new design and consider not only how it will perform, but also how it will be supported, maintained and improved throughout its life?"

Benefits

You’ll be joining an integrated technical environment where you'll have the opportunity to broaden your expertise, influence product development and build relationships across engineering, service, quality and R&D.

  • Competitive base salary
  • 26 days annual leave, with the option to buy up to 10 additional days and sell up to 5
  • Up to 10% matched pension contributions
  • BUPA Private Medical
  • Bonus & Share Save Scheme
  • Free to use on-site gym
  • 2 paid volunteering days a year
