Further Information: There are exciting developments in Children’s Services at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council!

Majella McCarthy, our new Director of Children’s Services, joined us in April and is passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people, and their families.

We recently underwent a review, and with internal promotions and investment in a new senior management structure, we are in an exciting position. We seek innovative and ambitious individuals who prioritize children and young people.

Our Children and Families service is strengthening, with specialist areas working alongside traditional safeguarding teams.

We have two opportunities for Service Leads in Children and Families, split into the following areas:

Service Lead One:
Children and Families teams x 3
Children with Disabilities
Edge of Care

Service Lead Two:
Children with Families teams x 3
Adolescent team
MACE

The successful candidates will oversee care planning for children in need of Child in Need, Child protection, PLO, and court care planning support. We seek candidates dedicated to excellent practice and outcomes, with a strengths-based approach.

As Service Lead, you will be creative and dynamic in transforming services and ideally have an interest or experience in one of the specialist areas.
