Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Lead to join our team at our supported living service in the City of Redcar.

Reporting to the Deputy Manager, the purpose of a Service Lead is to lead a cluster of support services that provide an agreed level of support to the people we support, helping them achieve their individual goals and lead full, productive lives as valued members of their community.

The Service Lead will be responsible for managing two supported living services and a small outreach service in the absence of the Manager within Redcar.

Responsibilities include completing rotas, staff supervision, attending reviews with People we Support, updating support plans and risk assessments, conducting medication and finance audits, and ensuring safeguarding protocols are followed with support from the Manager.

We seek someone with creative experience who can act as a role model for staff and take responsibility for the daily operations of the service. You will lead team meetings, support service user reviews, ensure medication procedures and activity timetables are maintained, and support on shift as needed. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.

You will play a key role in assessing service users and developing Person Centred Plans, facilitating staff participation in their implementation.

Requirements include:

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including sleepovers
  • 80% of hours on shift, 20% administrative work, with potential for 100% on shift
  • Level 3 in health and social care (driver’s license desirable)
  • Experience leading a staff team is advantageous

Essential experience:

  • Proven track record working with people with learning disabilities in an enabling environment
  • Strong understanding of Person Centred Care principles
  • Knowledge of the needs of relevant service user groups (e.g., Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Autism)
