Job Description:

Service Engineering Stress-Liaison Tech Spec II in GAC Farnborough

Unique Skills:

  • Substantial experience performing liaison duties and stress analysis supporting aircraft structural repair, rework, and alteration.
  • Experience in post-production liaison, stress roles, MRB, or concessions stress engineering.
  • Experience creating engineering instructions and documentation based on engineering principles.
  • Review of engineering drawings, research, calculations, stress reports, and troubleshooting instructions for in-service aircraft.
  • Knowledge of 14CFR regulations (especially Part 25) and FAA certification procedures.
  • Understanding of 14CFR 145 repair station activities and aircraft repair standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, self-starter, capable of handling multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility to switch roles between design, stress analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with 3D modeling systems like CATIA.
  • Analysis skills using classical hand methods and FEM software like FEMAP/PATRAN with Nastran.
  • Familiarity with fatigue and damage tolerance analysis techniques.
  • Skill in developing and analyzing composite repairs.

Preferred Skills:

  • Creating 2D repair drawings.
  • Experience with Gulfstream aircraft.
  • FAA DER or ODA unit member for 14CFR25 structures.
  • Experience with Structural Repair Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalog, and Maintenance Manuals.

Assignments are under the supervision of the Savannah Service Center Engineering Group Head, following company standards and accepted methods.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related technical field. Broad or specialized engineering experience preferred.

Guide major engineering programs and support development and production of Gulfstream products and services.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Select appropriate methods and evaluate criteria to resolve complex engineering issues.
  • Serve as a recognized authority, providing consultation.
  • Anticipate and resolve complex issues creatively, developing standards and guides.
  • Balance technical, cost, and schedule considerations in problem solving.
  • Work independently with long-term review for results.
  • Set technical objectives and provide authoritative recommendations.
