The role
The role will be varied from week to week and will include, but is not limited to the following:
• Routine and planned servicing of Ground Source heat pumps, Air Source heat pumps and Solar Thermal systems (full training will be given with ongoing support).
• Reactive maintenance of renewable heating systems. Troubleshooting electrical and plumbing issues as well as general plumbing as required.
• In a customer facing role, engage with clients in a polite and helpful manner.
• Assist heating teams on occasion with the installation of heat pumps, solar thermal systems, underfloor heating and radiators (may include pipework).
• Maintain clear communication with the Service Manager who will create a pre-planned schedule across our area of operation.
• Diagnose problems and find resolutions, replace parts or request parts from stock or suppliers.
• Liaise with manufacturers via their technical helpdesks where necessary to identify faults. Report back to office so the client can be kept fully informed of progress and updates.
• Exhibit a solid understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace.
• Ensuring appointments are kept by using your time management skills. Liaise with office regarding all changes to schedule when affected by jobs in progress, i.e. when issues are discovered on site requiring more time
• You must work well and on your own initiative however maintain close reference with the Service Manager to agree any changes to schedule or scope.
Skills and Experience
Essential
• Full clean UK driving licence
Desirable
• Qualified plumbing & heating engineer (SVQ/NVQ or equivalent).
• Unvented qualifications and experience necessary.
• 3+ years of plumbing/heating experience.
• Heat Pump qualification and experience would be beneficial although full training will be given.
Location
This will be mainly in the Highlands and Aberdeenshire with occasional overnight stays.
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Pay: £30,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
