Our client, a leader in the collision repair equipment industry, are looking for a Service Engineer to join their small, busy team to ensure a premium customer experience from installation all the way through to aftercare support of the equipment. The successful candidate will be comfortable with extensive travel and will have general handyperson skills as a minimum. The more specific skills needed can be taught, but it is important that you have a positive, proactive and motivated outlook / attitude.

The key responsibilities of a Service Engineer:

  • Driving the service needs, support and installation of collision repair equipment
  • Visiting customer locations from the Midlands all the way down to the South Coast, carrying out servicing and calibration joining, measuring, straightening and general maintenance to ensure equipment is in premium condition
  • Working closely with internal teams to ensure consistent customer satisfaction
  • Executing installations and delivering start-up training to customers
  • Admin duties invoicing and logging in the CRM

Skills & qualities needed to be a Service Engineer (essential):

  • Personal situation allowsextensivetravel 50% of this role is travel based, and for the first 3-6 months you may be staying away from home 3-4 times per week
  • Strong communication skills face to face and via phone/email
  • Customer-focussed, socially adaptable and confident speaking in front of a team
  • High attention to detail wanting to do a job right, the first time
  • Competent with IT systems including CRMs, Microsoft Office
  • General mechanical skills if you are able to rewire a plug, and be generally handy, the rest can be taught
  • Strong administrative skills be able to file work reports, invoices etc
  • Be able to handle flexibility work schedules may adapt last minute
  • Generally strong attitude towards work this is a small team, and you must be comfortable chipping in and helping others
  • Full UK driving licence and be a confident lone driver
  • Can work in a team and work alone
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Field experience in a service engineer role
  • Previous experience travelling extensively for work
  • Competent user of power tools
