Qualifications

  • Assemble and test tools to validate performance.

The role of Service Engineer/Tool Repair Technician is a busy position within our tool service department, responsible for functionality testing, fault finding, servicing, and repairing customer-owned products or Christie tooling returned from hire.

While the role involves responsibility, it offers an excellent opportunity to build a career in engineering, where you can learn from experienced colleagues.

Service Engineer Key Duties
  • Visually inspect and function test torque tooling equipment
  • Dismantle faulty tooling to identify malfunctions
  • Identify spare parts needed for repairs
  • Assemble and test tools to validate performance
  • Document processes on check sheets and job cards
  • Assist in other departments as required
The Successful Candidate Should
  • Be able to identify and resolve mechanical problems
  • Have a flexible attitude
  • Be able to read and understand mechanical engineering drawings and instructions
  • Ideally be time-served, apprentice-trained in Mechanical Engineering or Bench Fitting
  • Experience in hydraulics and/or pneumatics is advantageous
