Overview

Service Engineer | East Sussex | £35,000 - £40,000

Our client is looking for a Service Engineer, to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering first-line technical support, carrying out timely equipment repairs, and actively supporting the growth of the service function.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering technical support and guidance to customers, partners, and colleagues through phone, email, and on-site visits.
  • Coordinating with customers on logistics, including the dispatch of new equipment and the return of faulty units.
  • Diagnosing and repairing equipment faults in line with agreed turnaround targets.
  • Completing detailed service reports for all tasks, documenting work carried out and flagging any issues requiring follow-up.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Good manual dexterity and proficiency in using both hand and power tools.
  • Competence in accurately reading and interpreting electrical, electronic, and mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Skilled in working from circuit diagrams to assemble instrument wiring looms, from single cables through to fully tied looms.
  • Experienced in preparing cables, applying sleeves, and carrying out soldering and/or crimping of joints.

The role involves travel to meet with customers and suppliers, including occasional international trips. A valid driving licence and passport are essential.

Some manual handling is required, such as packing, unpacking, lifting, and moving heavy equipment.
