Overview

First Military Recruitment is currently supporting our client in the search for a Service Engineer. Our client designs & manufactures steam boilers, thermal heaters, and thermal oxidisers. They offer high potential earnings depending on experience, plus overtime, a company vehicle, pension scheme, and expense allowances.

The standard working hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 17:00. Typically, Service Engineers leave home between 6:00 and 7:30, at which point your working day commences.

Our client is keen to offer opportunities to Ex-Military personnel, but all applications will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Service Engineer:
  • To commission new and refurbished equipment supplied by the company, including status feedback and reports as appropriate.
  • To attend breakdowns, services, and site investigations related to equipment supplied by the company.
  • To supervise and coordinate subcontractors while working on site; this includes performance reports to the Field Service Manager as appropriate.
  • To provide detailed feedback on the performance, quality, and design of equipment.
  • To instruct and train customer personnel and/or service engineers as requested by the Field Service Manager in the operation and maintenance of equipment.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Sound electro-mechanical skills.
  • Combustion experience.
  • Industrial or commercial gas qualification.
  • An apprenticeship or formal technical qualification.
  • An appreciation for electronic burner management control would be an advantage but is not essential at present.
