Job summary

Carrier Rental Systems in the UK is seeking a skilled Service Engineer to repair and maintain diesel-powered pumps and generators in depot and on-site environments.

You will focus on health & safety, ensure equipment meets safety and quality standards, and travel to customer sites, including on-call duties.

Applicants should have mechanical experience with plant equipment, NVQ Level 3 or an M&E apprenticeship, a valid UK driving licence, and be able to work as part of a small, supportive team.

• Diagnosing faults and performing repairs to minimise downtime.
• Collaborating with the service team, hire controller and foreman for smooth operations.
• Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintaining a clean and organised working environment and ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Traveling to customer sites and participating in an on-call rota.

About the role:

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Service Engineer to repair and maintain diesel-powered equipment (pumps & generators) in both depot and on‑site environments. The role requires a strong focus on Health & Safety, with full compliance to regulations and company policies at all times, while maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment to ensure all equipment meets required safety and quality standards and customer operations run without interruption.

What you’ll be doing:

What we are looking for:

• Mechanical experience, ideally working with plant equipment, pumps, generators, and diesel engines.
• Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, an M&E related apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Full UK Driving licence or equivalent.
• Base salary + additional call outs pay

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between £24,785.00-£49,420.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, CLA participation, market typical pay for the role, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position may be entitled to short‑term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
