We’re recruiting for an efficient and reliable Garage Equipment Service Engineer based in the North West of England with travel across our UK branches.

Hours

Full time: Monday – Thursday 8am - 5.30pm and Friday 8am - 4.30pm

About the role

As a Garage Equipment Engineer/Surveyor for Arnold Clark, you’ll travel between various UK sites, specialising in garage equipment for reactive and planned work.

This role suits someone with previous field-based engineering experience, particularly with hydraulics and/or pneumatic garage equipment in a mechanical engineering environment. You should be able to work independently and maintain a flexible schedule, as overnight stays may be required.

• Attending customer sites for routine servicing and repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic garage equipment, including vehicle lifts, compressors, and MOT equipment
• Fault finding and repair on breakdowns, plus planned preventative maintenance of ramps and garage equipment
• Completing paperwork accurately and promptly
• Ensuring the van is stocked with necessary parts and tools
• Collaborating with other engineers and service controllers

Essential skills

• Experience in a similar field-based garage equipment maintenance role
• High organisation and attention to detail
• Full UK driving license
• Self-motivated and able to work independently

Nice to have (but not essential)

• Plant vehicle maintenance experience
• LOLER certification to surveyor level
