A leading mechanical engineering manufacturer in the UK is seeking a Service Engineer to provide mechanical repair and maintenance for industrial pumps. You will work across customer sites in the North of the UK and the workshop near Huddersfield, with full product training provided. The ideal candidate has a mechanical service background and experience with industrial machinery. This role offers a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 and various benefits, including overtime and a pension.

Overview

Service Engineer / Service Technician / Pump Engineer required to join a leading mechanical engineering manufacturer.

The Successful Service Engineer / Service Technician / Pump Engineer will provide mechanical repair, service and maintenance of industrial pumps at customer sites across the North of the UK, and the workshop near Huddersfield. Full product training provided.

Responsibilities
  • Provide mechanical repair, service and maintenance of industrial pumps at customer sites across the North of the UK, and the workshop near Huddersfield. Full product training provided.
  • The pump engineer will install industrial pump, pump systems, pipework and more into all forms of the manufacturing industry.
  • The Service Engineer will be required to work out of the workshop in Huddersfield when not working on customer sites.
  • Perform emergency breakdown fault finding and repairs on various pump and pump related equipment.
  • Liaise with various engineering departments.
Requirements
  • Will ideally have a mechanical service background and a good understanding of pump installation, repair, and maintenance. Other experience considered would be plant machinery, industrial machinery, motors, gearboxes, filtration or similar industrial mechanical engineering equipment.
  • Candidates with experience working industrial pumps are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Service Technician, Hydraulic Engineer, Mobile Engineer, Mechanical Fitter, Workshop Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Installation Engineer, Pump Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or similar.
  • An Electrical engineering understanding with the ability to fault find and commission plant room machinery is desirable.
  • The ability in maintaining good professional working relationships with existing and new customers.
  • A technical engineering degree / qualification or apprentice trained, would be advantageous.
  • Willingness to cover the North of the UK, with work from the workshop in Huddersfield when not on the road.
