Job summary

Integrated Well-being Networks have been implemented across Gwent to improve well-being through community-based approaches. This programme is part of a system-wide transformation aligned with the Welsh Government's long-term health and social care plan.

This role will lead the development of place-based well-being initiatives in Torfaen. The post holder will continue to develop networks, engaging partners and community assets collaboratively to promote well-being for all.

Welsh language skills are desirable; applications from Welsh and/or English speakers are welcome.

Main duties

  1. Secondment opportunity until 31 March 2026, funded accordingly.
  2. Applicants must seek permission from their current line manager before applying.
  3. Develop approaches to integrating well-being resources with primary care and community services.
  4. Build links between the Regional Partnership Board and Public Service Board well-being agendas, working across organizations.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Knowledge (Essential)

  • Master's level education or equivalent professional qualification/experience at a senior level
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Understanding of health and social care policies and community well-being approaches
  • Knowledge of Assets Based Community Development, change, and quality improvement methodologies

Experience (Essential)

  • Senior experience in health, local government, or third sector
  • Leading major projects or change programmes
  • Working effectively with diverse partners and understanding political contexts

Skills and Attributes (Essential)

  • Excellent communication and partnership skills
  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and operate independently
