Job Description

A global insurance business with a presence in the London Market is seeking an experienced accountant and team leader for the role of Service Company Finance Manager. As the lead of the Service Company team, you will oversee the accurate and timely production of financial reports for the Service Companies, including internal reporting to the Group, statutory filings to Companies House, and regulatory returns.

This role involves collaborating with international branches across Asia Pac and Dubai, partnering with the Asia Pac CEO, Dubai Lead Underwriter, and local finance teams. You will also help design the operating model for the Service Companies, ensuring effective financial control and working with local teams to maintain high standards of financial management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage stakeholder relationships with customers and suppliers related to syndicate financial reporting.
2. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles for the Service Companies.
3. Lead Singapore and Dubai finance liaison, providing counsel and oversight on syndicate financial statements.
4. Prepare underlying books and records, including posting transactions, reviewing, and assisting with reconciliations, managing intercompany and cash transactions.
5. Perform controls in line with UK & Group standards and SOX requirements.
6. Supervise and support the Service Company team (2 FTEs).
7. Sign off on statutory accounts with external auditors and stakeholders.
8. Prepare and review internal MI and regulatory reports.
9. Ensure accurate group reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
10. Ensure financial data remains relevant, well-analyzed, and reflective of organizational activities.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have broad accounting experience within the insurance sector, with a strong understanding of service company operations. You should be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with knowledge of insurance transactions and a commitment to finance transformation and continuous improvement.
