Key Responsibilities

Helping our Partners develop the skills and knowledge needed to serve our customers is a vital role. On a day-to-day basis, you'll be responsible for:

  1. Conducting engaging training and coaching sessions for Partners, both in groups and individually, to enhance their service and selling skills.
  2. Providing Partners with constructive feedback to support their personal development.
  3. Being creative in your training delivery to accommodate different learning styles.
  4. Planning and delivering inductions for new Partners.
  5. Supporting technical training related to shopfloor tools such as headsets, devices, apps, and new learning platforms.
  6. Staying updated with your own learning to champion the best service associated with the John Lewis brand.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Confidence in delivering coaching and training in various styles, including group and individual sessions, with the ability to give peer-to-peer feedback.
  • Good computer skills to facilitate and produce training on different systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience working in a customer-facing retail environment.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize your own time and workload.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Previous team-based work experience.
  • Understanding of learning platforms such as Workday, One Place Learning, and PDW.
  • Stakeholder management skills to build relationships with colleagues and subject matter experts.

As a Service & Selling Coach in one of our John Lewis shops, you'll help deliver exceptional customer service that sets us apart. Using your expertise, you'll train and coach Partners to ensure they have the tools needed to provide the outstanding service John Lewis is known for. This role contributes to customer loyalty and trust, encouraging repeat business.

Working hours are 37 hours per week, across seven days, including early mornings, late finishes, evenings, and weekends.
