Job Description:
  • Carrying out regular servicing of automated products and reconditioning equipment when required by customers, either on site or at the workshop.
  • Carrying out onsite welding and repairs.
  • Installation of new gates, barriers, bollards, and fencing including groundworks and labouring.
  • Installation of automated products to existing gates.
  • Installation of Entry Systems: i.e., intercoms and card readers.
  • Fault finding on site – emergency response call outs.
  • Making up control boards ready for installation.
  • Organising and loading materials onto vehicle/trailer for the day’s work.
  • Completing engineer report sheets with detailed information.
  • General workshop duties including cleaning, tidying, stock management, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Maintaining the company van and reporting mileage or issues for servicing.
  • Daily completion of timesheets for monthly submission.
  • Undertaking supplier training courses and health & safety tests for CSCS card.
Skills required for this role:
  • Experience with automated gate systems, including installation and servicing. Transferable skills in electrical or mechanical fields are also considered.
  • A full UK driving license.
  • Electrical knowledge, especially with access control/intercom systems and wiring of control panels (preferred but not essential for lower salaries).
  • Availability for a 1-in-4 call-out rota, which may include unsociable hours.
Additional beneficial skills:
  • Experience with CCTV or intruder alarm systems.
  • Ability to tow trailers.
  • Welding skills.
