Position Summary External

We are seeking an experienced Server & Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT team. You will play a key role in maintaining, upgrading, and modernising our IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on server management and leading our migration to Cloud This role combines hands-on technical delivery with strategic planning to ensure our infrastructure is secure, resilient, and aligned with the business's growth objectives

A day in the life of ....

  • Manage, maintain, and improve on-premises server infrastructure (Windows Server, VMware) and networking systems (LAN, WAN, firewalls, Wi-Fi).
  • Lead migration projects from on-premises infrastructure to Azure cloud services, ensuring minimal disruption and robust security.
  • Design, implement, and support hybrid infrastructure solutions integrating Azure with legacy systems.
  • Administer Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022), Active Directory, Group Policy, and related core services.
  • Oversee backup and disaster recovery solutions (Spectrum Protect & CommVault) ensuring regular testing and compliance.
  • Monitor network and server performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to maintain high availability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align IT infrastructure capabilities with business needs and security standards.
  • Maintain documentation of infrastructure processes, standards, and procedures.
Desirable
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Previous involvement in IT modernisation or cloud migration projects.
What will make you successful?

  • Proven experience managing Microsoft server environments and Azure cloud solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure AD, M365, Defender ATP, and Endpoint Manager.
  • Strong networking knowledge including IP, VLANs, WAN, LAN, and secure remote access.
  • Experience with VMware (vCenter, ESXi) administration and virtualisation lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of storage solutions (SAN/NAS) and backup technologies.
  • Understanding of IT security best practices including encryption, firewalls, and identity management.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex incidents under pressure
