Job summary

Pulse Healthcare seeks a Band 7 Locum Biomedical Scientist (Serology/Quality) in Bedfordshire. This full-time, ongoing role operates on core hours Monday to Friday, with an hourly rate to be negotiated, contributing to a busy laboratory service.

You will perform culture, identification and susceptibility testing of clinical specimens, with emphasis on serology/quality processes. HCPC registration and UKAS quality documentation are expected, along with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is essential.
• Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent required.
• Experience in Microbiology within a UK-based laboratory.

We are currently seeking a Band 7 Biomedical Scientist specialising in Microbiology to join our client’s team in Bedfordshire. This is a full-time, ongoing position working core hours only, offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to contribute to a busy and well-established laboratory service.

Key Responsibilities

You will perform culture, identification, and sensitivity testing of clinical specimens. You will detect bacterial infections using manual and automated techniques.

Qualifications and Experience

- HCPC registration

- Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent

- Experience in Microbiology within a UK based Laboratory

- Quality – document writing, accreditation/UKAS experience

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
