Depending on experience, you will oversee cases valued between GBP 25,000 and GBP 1,000,000+.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver excellent client care to clients who have suffered traumatic and life-changing events.
  • Conduct regular technical and case reviews, providing feedback and mentoring as required.
  • Maintain regular communication and meetings with clients.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams of experts, including medical experts, case managers, care experts, architects, forensic accountants, and counsel.
  • Analyze evidence and research legal issues related to liability, causation, and quantum.
  • Draft documents such as statements, pleadings, and schedules of loss.
  • Secure early interim payments and facilitate appropriate rehabilitation.
  • Optimize client settlements.
  • Work with a task-based case management system to ensure regular contact, exceptional customer service, and manage expectations.
  • Raise awareness of the department and develop your professional profile.
  • Support your Team Leader in supervising, mentoring, and developing junior team members, ensuring KPIs are followed, performance issues are managed, and development plans are in place.
  • Perform effectively in a target-driven environment.
  • Undertake any other relevant tasks as assigned by the business.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Fellow of CILEx with at least 4 years post-qualification experience or equivalent experience demonstrating ability to handle and recover appropriate rates.
  • Proven experience in handling serious injury claims, with strong technical skills and practical knowledge of court procedures.
  • Commitment to delivering excellent client care, with strong communication, negotiation, and objection-handling skills.
  • Ability to achieve objectives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of work and client care.
  • Proficient with case management systems, Excel, and Word, with good attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, and proactive.
  • Resilient — capable of handling changing circumstances and challenging situations while achieving objectives.

Your KPIs and objectives will be discussed and agreed upon in one-to-one meetings with your line manager, who will review your performance and support your development.
