Create the Future

As a Production Operative you will be part of a high-performance team both delivering and supporting other functions to meet challenging team and personal goals reporting into the Operations Team Leader.

Working 4 on 4 off - days & night shift pattern.

Key responsibilities:

  • Resolving day-to-day production issues & making process equipment available for maintenance.
  • Ensuring department is always audit ready (Cleaning, hygiene, food safety, paperwork)
  • Use of processing equipment to process all our whey & cream to the highest possible quality standards.
  • Safe unloading of milk delivered to site.
  • Dispatch sweet cream, whey making sure product is within specification.
  • Monitor and review the process to ensure department KPI’s are achieved and that any deviations from standard are recorded and communicated to the Production Team Leader.
  • Work closely with maintenance and other members of the team to ensure lost time due to breakdowns is minimized.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by raising near misses, environmental and behavioral safety observations.
  • Using LEAN tools for problem solving and identifying any CI opportunities.
  • Support completion of risk assessments and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure procedures, sampling and testing are performed daily.
  • Fill out MDE ensuring relevant information is captured correctly.
  • Complete mandatory and job specific training courses so that skills are kept up to date.

Skills & experience:

Experience in a similar position preferred, although full training will be given.

In addition you will have the following skills:

  • Ability to support a team and make decisions to protect quality and food safety.
  • Flexible, covering holiday/sickness.
  • Ability to self-motivate and take accountability for own tasks.
  • Ability to work in an organized and methodical manner, following company procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and able to form good working relationships.
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
