Organic traffic is key to the success of our product-led content, which aims to convert readers into shoppers across multiple verticals. We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter who understands the important role search engines and publishers play in the user journey of online shoppers.

As an SEO Manager within Commerce, you will support the Senior SEO Manager in implementing our SEO strategy across various areas such as Sports, Travel, Betting, Affiliates, and Finance. You will also report on the performance of live initiatives. Our product-led content primarily resides within these sectors.

The SEO team serves as a central resource across the Commerce business, providing support, insights, and expertise in digital marketing. You will collaborate closely with verticals and business units including Affiliate Partnerships, Travel, Editorial, and Product teams.

Key responsibilities

Content Management

  • Develop and execute a product-led SEO & content strategy to increase revenue, traffic, and rankings in collaboration with vertical leads.
  • Present this strategy as a clear roadmap to senior stakeholders.
  • Conduct keyword research for new or existing topics with affiliate or lead generation revenue potential.
  • Create clear briefs for writers, review articles, and suggest optimizations to ensure search engine success.
  • Coordinate with Editorial teams to plan seasonal content, maximizing traffic from high-intent search queries and prioritizing workflow.
  • Manage processes including internal linking, technical SEO, and collaboration with other SEO teams to improve overall performance.
  • Align goals with other Commerce teams and SEO leads, leveraging crossover opportunities.
  • Work with Analysts and Optimization Managers to identify conversion and reporting opportunities.
  • Analyze data related to rankings, visibility, traffic, and conversions to identify trends and growth opportunities.
  • Create competitor analysis reports for presentation to senior stakeholders.

Reporting

  • Own the ranking position and organic traffic metrics for your vertical, monitoring and acting on changes.
  • Manage SEO platforms such as Pi, monitor competitor movements, and keep top lists updated.

Events

  • Develop SEO-optimized content plans for major sales events like Black Friday, Christmas, and January sales.
  • Lead real-time optimizations during events, monitor trends, and recommend improvements.
  • Provide live and post-event performance analysis to stakeholders.

Essential skills

  • Proven experience in SEO, especially in on-page, content, and technical best practices.
  • Affiliate and commercial SEO experience.
  • Ability to deliver strategic presentations to senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Google Search Console, analytical tools, and SEO platforms.
  • Strong skills in data analysis and reporting.
  • Proficient in Google Sheets/Excel.
  • Interest in SEO industry updates and trends.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and curiosity.
  • Good time management and prioritization skills.

Additional useful skills

  • Experience with SEO tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, ScreamingFrog, or Lumar.
  • Experience in conversion optimization or A/B testing.
  • Background in editorial or newsroom environments.
