The ‘White Paper’ Account records receipts, payments, and fund balances from insolvencies and bankruptcies, with net funds distributed to creditors.

The role involves accurately producing this statutory account, maintaining reconciliations, and assurance processes. You will work with colleagues across the agency to ensure system data reflects operational activity and can be reported accurately.

You will collaborate with the resource accounts team, contributing to the agency’s Annual Report and Accounts, and work with the National Audit Office during external audits to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide financial data from the case management system to support the White Paper Account production.
  2. Conduct financial governance reviews to identify risks related to fraud and error, and implement process improvements.
  3. Lead key reconciliations of the White Paper Account, understanding impacts on stakeholders, legislation, and treasury management.
  4. Ensure the White Paper accounts are prepared in accordance with legislation and HM Treasury directions, supporting external audits.
  5. Collaborate with the Financial Accounting team to produce the Annual Report and Accounts on time, addressing NAO Management Letter Points promptly.
