As an SEO copywriter, you will create and optimise compelling content that aligns with the overarching SEO strategy outlined by BAT. Working closely with the SEO team, you will conduct keyword research and craft high-quality content including blog articles, product descriptions, and more. You will collaborate with legal and category teams to ensure content compliance and relevance. Additionally, you will leverage AI tools to enhance your workflow and stay informed about industry trends to maintain content freshness and effectiveness.

This is a 6m FTC with possibility to extend.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct keyword research to identify high-impact keywords and phrases (with support of the wider team).
  • Create SEO-optimized content based on the content calendar and global SEO strategy including blog articles, product descriptions, rich content, FAQs, promo content.
  • Collaborate with legal and category teams to ensure content compliance and relevance. Being a proactive participant of the approval and feedback process (supported by the SEO team and more experienced copywriting team member).
  • Monitor and analyze content performance, adjusting as needed to improve SEO results.
  • Leverage our AI tools, Imagine and Sidekick, identifying ways to integrate them into SEO copywriting workflows
  • Support the development of SEO-driven content strategies, including insight generation, auditing and gap analysis, and strategy development
  • Collaborate with the SEO team, drawing upon keyword research and SEO content briefs in order to develop content that aligns with best practice
  • Stay up to date with SEO industry trends and competitor activities to keep content fresh and relevant.

Must-Have Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience in SEO copywriting
  • Basic understanding of keyword research and SEO best practices.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with SEO keyword software such as Ahrefs, SEMrush etc. Main focus: Conductor.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, alcohol, and tobacco industries.
  • Second fluent language, German preferred.
