Working pattern: 2 days hybrid in the Manchester office
The SEO Account Manager will manage the day-to-day delivery of SEO campaigns across a portfolio of clients. You’ll be responsible for implementing strategy, coordinating SEO activity across departments, and building strong client relationships. This role is hands-on, delivery-focused, and ideal for someone who thrives on making things happen, while supporting juniors and learning from senior team members.
Role Responsibilities:
- Client Account Management: Act as the primary contact for your clients, providing regular updates, reports, and recommendations. Manage expectations around delivery timelines, campaign results, and strategic direction. Take part in client calls and meetings, contributing insights and updates with confidence.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with internal specialists to deliver cohesive, effective campaigns. Work closely with the Content and Digital PR teams to deliver integrated campaigns. Collaborate with the SEO Data Analyst and SEO Strategists to obtain data that will help shape roadmaps.

- Development: Attend training sessions, complete certifications where relevant, and work with senior team members to build your SEO knowledge.
- Innovation: Stay up to date with SEO news, algorithm changes, and emerging trends.
- Mentorship: Support SEO Executives with task delegation, guidance, training sessions and feedback.
- Performance: Tell a story with reports for clients by adding commentary to reports in Agency Analytics that highlight performance trends that can be directly linked back to work we’ve completed. Use reporting data to make decisions on ongoing strategy. Responsible for ensuring that dashboards are reporting accurately and no data is missing. Effectively communicating how our work is working towards the clients KPIs and engaging with the client to ensure this is understood.
- Strategy: Owns SEO strategy and delivery for a portfolio of client accounts, with support from senior team members on more complex challenges. Works with SEO Strategists and Data Analysts to help shape and refine plans, ensuring all activity aligns with client KPIs. Accountable for day-to-day implementation and quality assurance, while continuously looking for ways to improve performance and efficiency.
Skills and Knowledge:
- General SEO Knowledge: Good working knowledge of SEO best practices across on-page, technical and off-page. Good understanding of how SEO efforts align with clients’ commercial goals.
- Specialist SEO Knowledge: Able to contribute to more specialist projects such as international SEO, migrations, or local SEO with support from senior team members.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to simplify technical concepts and translate performance data into clear, valuable insight for clients. Builds trust by consistently communicating what matters, from progress and performance to opportunities and next steps.
- Experience: 3+ years experience in SEO, preferably within an agency setting. Experience managing multiple accounts and delivering great work that helps clients hit their KPIs.
- Mindset and Growth: Passionate about SEO and keen to grow into a more senior role by learning from Strategists, Leads, and wider Organic team members. Proactive, driven, and eager to take ownership of work.
- Organisation: Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams. You should be confident that your workload is manageable and that appropriate deadlines are set and met.
- Relationship Building: Build strong, trusted relationships with clients, positioning yourself as their go-to SEO expert. Easily builds strong relationships with those in your team and the wider business.
- Tools: Confident using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Screaming Frog, GA4, GSC and SEO campaign management tools such as Ahrefs or SERanking.
- You will demonstrate our Company values in your day to day interactions with team members and clients.
- Interpersonal skills – Clear and effective communicator. Provide feedback. Ability to actively listen to team members building trust. Resolve conflicts.
