Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a community support worker to assist adults with sight, hearing or dual sensory impairments in Essex. You will travel in the community, help with shopping, finances, and correspondence, and accompany customers to health appointments, including possible travel to London.

You will drive customers across Essex in your own car; hours vary, mainly Monday to Friday, with induction and ongoing support. DBS check required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence.
• Access to a car for travel and transporting customers.
• Enhanced DBS check.
• Right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with sight, hearing or dual sensory impairments in the community to keep their independence.
• Help with shopping, finances and correspondence.
• Support access to sports and leisure facilities.
• Accompany customers to health appointments, including possible travel to London.
• Drive customers across Essex in your own car.
