Job summary

SAM is seeking a Sensory Panel Leader to coordinate and oversee sensory panels, ensuring accurate data collection for product evaluation. The role focuses on data integrity, panellist performance, and delivering actionable insights for product development and QA.

Responsibilities include recruiting and training panellists, leading daily sessions, and maintaining training records, with a strong emphasis on ethical and unbiased testing environments.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in food science or related discipline.
• 2–3 years in sensory or QA environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for coaching panellists and coordinating with teams.
• Attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Experience with sensory software/tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and train sensory panellists.
• Lead daily panel sessions with adherence to protocols.
• Monitor and coach panellists for consistency and performance.
• Deliver refresher training for panellists.
• Maintain training records and proficiency tracking.
• Ensure correct sample preparation and environmental controls.
• Maintain testing facilities and equipment per SOPs.
• Support continuous improvement of sensory protocols.
